Mike M's keynote!

Mike Milinkovich, executive director of the Eclipse Foundation, has sent along a description of his keynote address.

Your Eclipse Community

The Eclipse open source community has been a resounding success by almost every measure. In terms of market share, commercial adoption, industry impact and community participation it has historically been a home run. But relentless innovation is a requirement for any software platform in today’s world and Eclipse is no exception. The next few years are going to be hugely important to everyone involved (however peripherally) in the Eclipse ecosystem. Not only is there going to be significant platform evolution under the auspices of the Eclipse 4.0 project, but there are ever-increasing calls for growing participation and diversity across Eclipse’s projects. Now is your time to look at how you can become involved as a full contributor to the Eclipse community.
